A Brand-New Land Inspired by The Lion King

First up: Disneyland Paris has announced the creation of the world’s first attraction and immersive themed area based on The Lion King. It’s going to be a journey through the African savanna, and will feature a water attraction that takes guests beneath Pride Rock, plus character greetings, themed dining and shopping.

Imagine walking in Simba’s footsteps, exploring Pride Rock, meeting Timon, Pumbaa and the gang — all in one place. It’s designed to appeal to families with children of all ages, and especially to those who loved the film. Construction is set to begin soon in the area near Adventure Bay inside what will be called Disney Adventure World (formerly the second park).

Coming 2026: A Frozen-Themed Land & Nighttime Spectacular

But wait — there’s more. In 2026 the resort will open a huge new area dedicated to Frozen. Guests will be able to step into the Kingdom of Arendelle, ride an attraction alongside Anna and Elsa, enjoy immersive dining and shopping, and meet their favourite characters.

Alongside this will be a stunning new nighttime show above the lake at Disney Adventure World — complete with water-screens, fountains, drone choreography and lighting effects. The expansion will roughly double the footprint of the park, marking a bold new chapter for the resort.

“We are very excited and proud to be unveiling the next immersive area of Disney Adventure World, our second park that has been undergoing an expansion on a never-before-seen scale. This marks another milestone in the ongoing transformation of Disneyland Paris. After Worlds of Pixar, Marvel

Avengers Campus and World of Frozen – our Frozen-themed land that will open in 2026 – the creation of an immersive experience dedicated to The Lion King is a testament to our commitment to immersing our guests into breathtaking adventures inspired by their favorite films, at the heart of themed areas that are faithful to the originals. This new area – which is inspired by the unforgettable story that has enchanted several generations of viewers – exists nowhere else in the world. It will make it possible for guests of all ages to make one of their wildest dreams come true: exploring the Pride Lands alongside all their favorite characters,” said Natacha Rafalski, Présidente of Disneyland Paris.

What This Means for Your Family Holiday

  • More family-friendly attractions: The Lion King land is designed for all ages — little ones can meet characters, older kids can enjoy the thrill of the new ride.
  • Extended stay value: With big new areas opening, there’s more to explore. A longer stay might make sense to soak it all in.
  • Planning ahead: Since the Frozen area is due in 2026, you might decide whether to go now and revisit later, or wait until after the big opening for a spectacular first visit.
  • Seasonal trips made better: The new nighttime show arriving in January 2025 at the main park means even an off-peak trip could offer something fresh and magical.

Top Tips for Families Visiting Soon

Here are some practical pointers:

  • Check the calendar for when the Lion King land begins construction — parts of the park may be quieter or under development during your visit.
  • Book your stay early. With big launches ahead, hotels may fill faster or offer special packages.
  • Let the kids know about the updates — build excitement by watching The Lion King or Frozen at home ahead of the trip.
  • If you’re visiting before 2026, take advantage of the existing attractions and plan a return visit post-launch so the children can witness the new areas together in a future holiday.

In Summary

Disneyland Paris is stepping up its family-holiday game with these immersive new areas and spectacular experiences. For families, this means more memories, more magic, and more time together doing something extraordinary. Whether you’re planning a visit now or waiting for the big 2026 openings, there’s never been a better time to get excited.
